EAT: DEVIL'S CORNER VINEYARD, TASMANIA
Combining incredibly picturesque views with great seafood produce, woodfire pizzas and wines, there are plenty of reasons why Devil's Corner is a must-visit.
Located on the doorsteps of Coles Bay and Freycinet Peninsula, we made sure to pay the cellar door and on-site eateries a visit during our drive down from Launceston to the Freycinet area. Rivalling the stunning natural surroundings and views (take it all in at the look-out point), the eye-catching design of the site was also a sight to behold. The wine connoisseurs will enjoy the variety of award winning Devil's Corner wines available for tastings and/or purchase. Eateries Tombolo Cafe and The Fisher's Seafood offer a tasty preview of some of the best eateries on the peninsula; Tombolo Freycinet and Freycinet Marine Farm respectively. Unable to wait any longer to get our hands on some good ol' Tassie seafood, we ordered the Fishers Platter to share. Fresh shucked oysters, pickled mussels, a housemade smoked oyster pate and hot smoked salmon satiated our seafood cravings, while the accompanying cured meats and cheese rounded out the platter nicely.
En route to Coles Bay/Freycinet Peninsula from Launceston, Devil's Corner is an absolutely beautiful place to stretch the legs and grab a taste of some of the delicious delights on offer further down in the peninsula.
