EAT: BUTTER MAFIA GLUTEN-FREE DESSERTS
To the best of my knowledge, I’ve never had any real issues with gluten. Thankfully, given how much I love bread. So gluten-free options don’t usually land on my radar as must-tries. But after tucking into a selection of Butter Mafia’s handcrafted, gluten-free desserts, I may have to re-tweak my radar. Or at the very least, add some of Butter Mafia’s goodies to my list of must-eats, and I would highly recommend that you follow suit, gluten intolerance or not. 100% gluten-free, 100% delicious.

MOB BOX
For the indecisive or any first timers wanting to try a little bit of everything, the Mob box features all of their dessert bar flavours:
Mob Wife - raspberry pate layer on chocolate mud
The Mistress - tangy lemon and passionfruit curd baked on vanilla biscuit
Bad Boy brownies - choc chunks and roasted almonds in a fudgy brownie
Black Widow - dark chocolate and coffee caramel on a black velvet brownie
Mafia Darling - white chocolate and pink salted caramel on vanilla biscuit
The Don - dark chocolate ganache, roasted hazelnuts in caramel on a chewy choc biscuit
If you’re a fan of more indulgent and decadent desserts, most of these desserts, particularly those with chocolate or caramel, will definitely tickle your fancy. And if your sweet tooth skews towards less sweet, these still go down a treat with a cup of tea. Or opt for the tangier Mob Wife and Mistress options - beautifully rounded in their flavour profiles and were my favourites of the lot. Not too surprising as I tend to gravitate towards citrus and berries when it comes to desserts. Which just goes to show that there’s a little something for everyone in the Mob Box… if you’re open to sharing!
HENCHMEN COOKIES
It’s a tough call but gun to my head (that saying seems somewhat fitting here given the whole mafia theme they have going on), my absolute favourite of my Butter Mafia loot would have to be these cookies. Heck, possibly one of the best cookies I’ve eaten to date. A beautifully short, crunchy, crumbly peanut butter cookie topped with generous chunks of chocolate. “One is never enough”. Indeed. A glass of milk, coffee or tea makes the perfect companion these cookies (note the plurality hah!) to create one heavenly treat.
