EAT: PINEAPPLE PALM, ALBERT PARK

But first a little about the coffee, which was one of the main draw cards for visiting Pineapple Palm. The cafe serves St Remio coffee, where every cup of coffee does a heck of a lot of good by not only taking care of your caffeine needs in tasty fashion but most importantly giving a little something back to the farming communities from which the beans are harvested and produced. Through their partnership with Sustainable Harvest, every coffee purchase directly contributes to the provision of education, resources and infrastructure to communities like the Rwandan female coffee producers to change their lives for the better. Our delightful cup of joes were accompanied by an equally delightful Pineapple Palm brunch spread that actually took a while to decide upon - plenty of delicious-sounding dishes on the menu that had us umm’ing for quite some time. We chose well as all three dishes - the chilli scrambled eggs, Korean style chicken baos and salmon bruschetta - were immensely flavoursome and formed a nice, balanced selection for sharing.
Chilli scrambled eggs - with Szechuan chilli oil, crispy shallots, coriander and lime on sourdough.
Chicken bao - Korean style spicy chicken bao with pickles and lettuce.
Salmon bruschetta - Scandinavia style house cured salmon with shaved beetroot & apple and salted lemon yoghurt on toasted sourdough slices.
