EAT: ARBORY AFLOAT, SOUTHBANK

Balmy nights. Gorgeous sunshine. Gentle breeze in the air. A tasty assortment of drinks and food. Some excellent company. Tunes. And a float. All the makings of some great summertime fun, courtesy of Arbory Afloat.

Sadly, we're well past the long summer days where the sun goes down some time after 8pm. But there's still a few more weeks left to catch Arbory Afloat before it finishes up at the end of April. On a plus note, Melbourne has at least been dishing out some nice, sunshiny weather as of late (surprise, surprise).

While the setting itself attracts quite the number of visitors, the food also speaks volumes when it comes to adding to Arbory Afloat's wow factor. Seafood lovers, feast your eyes on the epic seafood selection. The cold seafood platter featured a sensationally fresh array of oysters, mussels, generously sized prawns, a cured seafood concoction and half a lobster. But it was the lobster spaghetti that stole the show. Perfectly al dente spaghetti and tendrils of lobster flesh, coated in an intensely flavoursome tomato based sauce that had quite a pronounced herbaceous and sweet seafood presence, punctuated by a satisfying amount of spice. Also perfect for the cooler April nights, just saying.
