RECAP: NIGHT NOODLE MARKETS 2018

The 2018 Night Noodle Markets have come and gone, and this year saw the return of some old favourites as well as some adventurous newcomers that made quite the bold splash.

If you visited the markets this year, you probably didn’t need to go very far before spying someone with the ‘magical’ hovering noodles from the aptly named Flying Noodles stall. If you missed out, they’re also around at the Queen Vic Night Markets. We decided to see whether there was more to the dish than just looks (for the grammmm), and tucked into some noodly magic (just some lukewarm to cool noodles), with some finger lickin’ soybean sauce marinated chicken tenderloin, Chinese broccoli, capsicum and carrots. But it was ZOMG Sando’s wagyu katsu sando that really pulled out the big guns when it came to plating and tasty wow factor. Just WOW. Words could not describe the explosive flavour combination of the mustard mayo, silky succulent wagyu, and seasoned crunch from the crumbing. And of course we just had to finish with Black Star Pastry’s strawberry watermelon cake.
