EAT: WESTWOOD COFFEE AND WINE, WEST MELBOURNE

The face of West Melbourne’s Victoria Street seems to be undergoing constant change, and is now the home of several new eateries in recent months. We checked out Westwood Coffee late last year for a quick lunch bite. The menu is quite short but sweet, so for all you indecisive folks out there (aye!), get ready to cut straight to your dish of choice. As highlighted by our picks of the fried eggs with sauce vierge, the dishes on offer are quite simple, sans bells and whistles, but the use of quality ingredients ensures a good feed. And great coffee too with Allpress Espresso beans. When the clock strikes wine o’ clock, the cafe transforms into a wine bar. The post-work menu features a selection of small and large dishes for sharing: all the perfect accompaniments to the vino on offer. If the day feed was anything to go by, I look forward to returning some time soon to try the other dishes on offer.
