EAT: MORRIS & HEATH, HOPPERS CROSSING
Brunch with the mister is quite a rare event given his weekend work schedule but as luck would have it, we found ourselves a little pocket of time for a quick brunch date one Saturday afternoon.
The Melbourne weather gods didn’t appear to get the memo on said occasion though, and sun turned into gloom before soon turning into downpour… but a little bit of rain never hurt anyone.
Our brunch date took place at Morris and Heath, quite a distance out in the west side in Hoppers Crossing. It’s somewhat comforting to know that good coffee now exists out in the ‘burbs should we ever find ourselves further out. The food itself was also deserving of a thumbs up. The mister’s order of the bagel benny was immensely flavour-packed from both the rub and base of the BBQ pulled pork and the chipotle chilli lime hollandaise. The breakfast combo was quite well balanced portion-wise and while I’m usually a savoury over sweet kinda gal, my taste buds enjoyed the sweet nuttiness of the granola slightly more than the zesty smashed avo.
Bagel Benny - BBQ pulled pork and rosti, and poached eggs, topped with chipotle chilli lime hollandaise on a toasted half bagel.
M+H Brekkie Combo - house natural nut and seed mix with dates, flake almonds, sunflower kernels and cinnamon served with milk // smashed avo on toast // light serve of orange juice.
