REVIEW: GLACE (BREAKFAST), WINDSOR

To the Melburnians with sweet tooths out there, you'll be glad to hear that you can now enjoy a tasty sweet treat for your morning or brunch feed. Launching late last year, one of Melbourne's favourite dessert destinations, Christy Tania's Glacé, now has a menu of brunch offerings... many of which come with a side of their signature ice creams.

Those more partial to a savoury bite will also be looked after with dishes like a croissant burger and croque madame also on the menu. Fillings for the croissant burger change on a weekly basis; the flaky light croissant buns were adorned with a ham and cheese filling on the morning of our visit. The humble ham and cheese combination also made an appearance in the croque madame, sandwiched between two thick slices of brioche and teamed with a rich blend of creamy bechamel, punchy dijon mustard and a perfectly oozy yolky egg.

With sweets being Christy Tania's forte, it was no surprise to see that the sweet dishes were the star of the show, each coming with some wow factor... and ice cream! Yes, you may have ice cream for breakfast! Everyone loves a good banana bread, but throw in a fragrant cinnamon almond crumble, caramelised banana, banana ice cream, peanut butter and some Chantilly cream to soften the sweetness, and your taste buds will find themselves in one decadent, indulgent but heavenly party.

If you're a savoury fan like I am, be sure to save some room for dessert. And in failing that, there's always the option of taking some sweet goodies to go!
