EAT: DAVID'S HOTPOT, POINT COOK

With the exception of the occasional freakishly warm day (although no complaints about the 3-day stretch of mid-20s weather we just had over the past weekend), the winter chill has definitely landed in Melbourne. Which makes it officially the season for rugging up, winter warmers… and hotpot lunches and dinners. If you’re not one for hotpot feasting at home, then David’s Hotpot have got you sorted. Especially with three locations around town - Melbourne CBD, Doncaster East and Point Cook. And luckily for me, the Point Cook location is right down the road from my in-laws.

“Life is short, make it hot.”

Adding to their winter warmer value is the spice factor in their signature soup bases. I can vouch for this - we opted for the mildest level of spice and this still had us fanning our tongues and reaching for the non-existent milk. Be sure to go for a half and half option if like me, your spice tolerance isn’t quite there. Once you have selected the soup base(s), the real fun starts with picking the hotpot accompaniments from an extensive menu of seafood, meats, fish/minced balls, skewers, veggies and snacks. Scroll down to check out our selections.. and then proceed to make yourself a booking to visit your closest David’s Hotpot stat - it’s a sure way and one delicious way to get hot and toasty this winter!
