EAT: ARBORY AFLOAT, MELBOURNE CBD

With old..er age, I don’t quite feel the same excitement I once did whenever my birthday rolled around. In fact, I even tried to keep it super low key this year… went to work, followed by a pilates class and then home time! But my nearest and dearest weren’t going to let the occasion go uncelebrated… when it came to the next catch up with the ladies over a month later, they still insisted on a birthday dinner. Awww shucks, thanks lovelies!

We ended up on the Yarra River at Arbory Afloat for some sunshine, bubbles, and one epic seafood feast comprising the cold seafood platter and Southern Rock Lobster Tacos. The lobster pieces for the tacos were coated in a light and gently seasoned tempura batter, and served with a fragrant truffle aioli and avocado chimichurri for added doses of flavour. A fresh and light feed, fitting for the warmer weather we encountered during the evening of our visit. And had we brought our bathers, there was even a pool on site to enjoy. Looks like Arbory Afloat is truly the place to be this summer! Get in while the pop up is still around.
