EAT: BROWN BROTHERS WINERY, MILAWA
Three words: truffled ricotta doughnuts. Salivating? These were the three words that sealed the deal when I was perusing eateries/menus for dining inspo prior to our weekend getaway in Milawa/Bright. A booking was instantly made. Fast forward to three weeks later and we found ourselves seated at Brown Brothers Winery in Milawa and eagerly awaiting the doughnuts among other scrumptious goodies. As it turns out, the doughnuts were beautifully fragrant with their truffle aroma and punchy cheese shaving paired with a fluffy light ricotta filling but it was the silky fresh Smoked Ora king salmon that stole the show; the freshness and tangy light flavour profile of the dish going down a treat with the warm weather. For something more substantial, their freshly made pastas were spot on in texture - be sure to also order some sourdough focaccia to mop up the sauces.
Sourdough focaccia with rosemary, Murray River pink salt.
